Mod Licence Terms
The licence you accept before downloading a mod from the DayZ Hub mods store: what you may do with it, what you may not, and what happens if the terms are broken.
- Mods store
In short
- A mod licence is for you and your game servers (one server at a time for licensed mods). You get the right to use the mod, not the mod itself.
- Don't share, resell, re-upload, decompile or change the files, or work around the licence check.
- Licensed mods check their licence while your server runs.
- Breaking these terms ends the licence, without a refund.
These terms
These Mod Licence Terms ("the Terms") are an agreement between you and DayZ Hub, operated by DayzHUB from the Netherlands ("we"). They apply to every mod you download from the DayZ Hub mods store (dayzhub.net/mods), paid or free, and to its updates. They add to the Terms of Service; where the two differ about a mod, these Terms apply.
You accept them by ticking the box before your first download. We record who accepted, which version, when, in which language and for which mod. When the Terms change, you accept the new version before your next download.
Some mods, including the DayzHUB Console agent, are distributed only through the Steam Workshop and not through a download on this site, so there is no box to tick. For those mods, subscribing to the Workshop item and running it on your server is how you accept these Terms, from the version stated on that Workshop item's page at the time. Every other part of these Terms applies to a Workshop-distributed mod the same way it applies to a mod downloaded here, except where a section only makes sense for a store download (for example, the licence-key/IP-whitelist mechanics in "What you get" and "Licence checks and data" - the Console agent identifies your server through your DayzHUB Console account instead, as its own page and the Privacy Policy explain).
What you get
- A personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the mod on game servers you operate, under these Terms. You get the right to use the mod; you do not buy the mod itself or any rights in it.
- Licensed mods (marked on their page) work on one game server at a time, identified by the IP address you set on the mod's page. You can change the IP once every 7 days; the previous IP keeps working for 48 hours.
- DayzHUB Core. Mods built on the DayzHUB Core need the Core files to run. The Core is free with any DayzHUB mod you own, it does nothing by itself, and it is licensed under these Terms like the mods that use it. If you do not own a licensed mod, you have no right to use the Core.
- Paid mods are licensed once per purchase and stay licensed while you keep to these Terms. Free mods are for active DayZ Hub customers and are licensed only while you are one.
- Players who join your server may use the mod as needed to play there. Where a mod has a part that players need, they get it the way the mod's page describes.
- The DayzHUB Console agent is free to install on any game server you operate, from its official Steam Workshop item only. Running it that way is not a breach of "What you may not do" below - that section still applies to re-uploading it anywhere else, or to any other mod that does not say the same.
What you may not do
- Share, sell, rent, lend, give away or otherwise pass on the mod files, or your access to them.
- Publish or re-upload the mod or any part of it (for example on the Steam Workshop, a website, a Discord server or in a repack), unless the mod's page says you may.
- Decompile, deobfuscate, unpack, modify or reverse-engineer the mod, or use its code, models, textures, sounds or other parts in anything else.
- Remove, disable or work around the licence check, the server whitelist or any other protection, or help anyone else do so.
- Use the mod in a way that breaks the law, the Terms of Service or Bohemia Interactive's rules for DayZ servers.
Licence checks and data
Licensed mods check their licence with our licence service when the game server starts and while it runs. For each check we record the server's IP address, the time and the result, to make sure licences are used as agreed. The check runs when the server starts and once a day. If our licence service cannot be reached, the mod keeps running for up to 12 hours before it stops; a server that we have never been able to confirm gets only a few minutes. On a server that is not whitelisted, or once a licence has ended, the mod stops working. How we handle this data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Updates and support
- We may release updates, which can fix, change or remove features.
- We aim to keep mods working with current DayZ versions, but a DayZ update, another mod or your server's setup can break a mod, and we cannot promise a fix within a set time.
- Support is given in the DayZ Hub support Discord, for the current version of a mod.
Ownership
The mods, including their code and assets, belong to DayZ Hub and their authors and are protected by copyright. Parts made by others stay with their owners. "DayZ" is a trademark of Bohemia Interactive a.s.; DayZ Hub is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bohemia Interactive. Every right not granted in these Terms is kept by us.
When a licence ends
- You can stop using a mod at any time.
- If you break these Terms, your licence to that mod ends straight away, without a refund. We may also block its licence, remove your downloads and, for serious or repeated breaches, close your access to the mods store.
- When a licence ends you must stop running the mod and delete your copies of it.
Payments, refunds and withdrawal
Prices, payments and refunds follow the Terms of Service (sections 3 and 4). A paid mod licence is not refundable once it has been issued, except where mandatory law says otherwise. A mod licence is digital content that starts as soon as it is issued, so, as section 5 of the Terms of Service explains, the EU/EEA 14-day right of withdrawal ends once it has started, to the extent the law allows.
No warranty, limited liability
Mods are provided "as is", without any promise that they are free of errors or fit your purpose. Back up your server before you install or update a mod. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited as set out in section 9 of the Terms of Service, and we are not liable for lost server data, lost income or lost players caused by a mod. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. A new version applies to downloads from the day it is published, and you accept it before your next download; the version you accepted keeps applying to the copies you already have. The "last updated" date shows the current version.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and disputes go to the competent Dutch courts, without taking away any mandatory consumer protection of your country of residence.

How licences, updates and refunds work
- One licence per mod and per server IP (any port), for the life of that IP. You generate it in My mods and put the .lic file in $profile:DayzHUB\Licenses\.
- More servers: add an extra IP seat for that mod at half its price.
- Change IP or regenerate: up to 2 times per mod in 30 days. A new file replaces the old one.
- Test server: one free test IP for every mod you own. It works only on the IP you register.
- Updates are included for the whole major version. A new major version is an upgrade at 50% of the price. Fix patches are always free.
- Refunds: within 7 days if the licence was never activated; a refund removes the licence.
- Ticket is not sold on its own. If its licence is not valid, only the ticket feature pauses and your server keeps running.
- Every other mod: if the licence is not valid, the server shows a message naming the mod and stops after a short delay. A refusal is repeated once after 60 seconds before it counts.
- If our website cannot be reached, servers that were already confirmed keep running for up to 12 hours. A server that was never confirmed gets a 10-minute start window.
- Free with any licensed mod: DayzHUB Core and the Link Server.
